  • 2 Hot cross bun(s)

  • Knob of butter

  • 1 Large egg(s), beaten

  • 50 ml Milk

  • Fruit compote / jam

  • Peanut butter

  • Greek yoghurt

  • Tools
  • Frying pan


  • Start off by heating a frying pan on a medium-high heat.
  • Whisk together the egg, milk and pinch of salt and then dunk each slice of the hot cross bun in the egg mixture, pushing down to help soak both sides.
  • Add a knob of butter to the hot frying pan, wait until melted and then place the slices of hot cross buns, cooking for 3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
  • Add the crispy slices to your plate and cover with your choice of sweet or savoury toppings.
